I had an absolute blast designing this opera at U-M, directed by the fabulously creative Greg Keller. Great process overall with amazing support from our highly gifted shop. Sophomore Kayti Sanchez was my assistant, and it was great to have another student, Lucy Knas, research, design and execute the tattoo bodysuit. The cast was so collaborative and game as we developed this whacky penny dreadful. Two seniors, Abi Farnsworth and Audrey Tieman designed lighting and scenery.

You can read a preview of the show on Pulp. And see photos by Peter Smith, below.

The attention to detail in these costume designs is absolutely fascinating! As someone who appreciates character-inspired fashion, I love how a single garment can truly define a persona. For example, the iconic Rip Wheeler Jacket has that same powerful, cinematic presence in modern styling. It’s interesting to see how America Outfits brings that screen-ready quality into everyday fashion.

Such inspiring creativity in costume design! It reminds me how fashion can tell a story just like theater does. For those who admire iconic looks, Yellowstone Jacket collections are a perfect way to bring character into everyday style. I personally enjoy browsing Yellowstone Clothing since it captures the rugged yet classy vibe of the show while keeping the wardrobe modern and bold.
