We’re trying a Saturday morning Urban Sketchers class at our local art center. It is very interesting to be a student again. I’m really enjoying having some protected time to just draw and paint. It is also interesting to hear someone else teach the same basic skills I cover in my rendering class: negative space, using complementary colors, basic perspective, etc… but through the lens of Urban Sketching.
I’m also using some new materials (it is always fun to go shopping for art supplies!) including a water brush, pan watercolors and watercolor pencil. It’s been too chilly to draw outside, so, so far we’re exploring the views from within the art center.
